THE auction of the former Coach House in Warminster received a packed house and some brisk bidding .
The property finally sold for £70,750, at the auction in Dewey House, Warminster last week.
The auctioneer, Mr David Bell FRICS, said: "This result demonstrates the value of auctions. Even we were surprised. Over four weeks some one hundred viewings took place."
At a time when prices of residential property are on the increase, auctioneers suggest this type of sale as an alternative to private treaty, especially if the property has a special appeal.
They say auctions are a good opportunity to reach a wider audience and obtain the best possible price.
