WITH its distinctive glass roof and sporting, eye-catching lines, the new Peugeot 307 SW is a clear leader in the style stakes.

It's also extremely versatile, and adapts easily to suit individual and varied lifestyles.

This innovative, head-turning vehicle combines all the benefits of estate car space and MPV flexibility with dynamic performance and driving characteristics to set new standards in this sector.

The 307 SW's interior layout can be speedily adapted to accommodate up to seven occupants and a wide variety of loads, as the individual rear seats are easily removed to form a vast number of different configurations.

The wheelbase is 10cm longer than that of the 307 hatchback, allowing for even greater load carrying or the addition of one or two individual seats behind the second row.

The interior is remarkably light, thanks to the panoramic glass which covers the full width of the roof and extends over the front and second row passenger seats. The car features the biggest windscreen in its class, and there's a large rear screen to aid rearward vision; in fact, a third of the 307 SW's total body area is made of glass. While the sophisticated athermic glass roof ensures that the occupants stay cool even in the brightest sunshine, there's also a full-length electric shutter blind to provide additional privacy or security if required.

There's also plenty of space for all occupants, and lots of handy storage and useful features, including fold-down tables on the front seat backs, and pull out storage drawers under both front seats.

Air conditioning, electric front windows, and 12-volt power sockets further enhance passenger comfort and convenience, while an air-conditioned glovebox helps keep drinks or chocolate bars cool. The new Peugeot 307 SW is offered with a choice of 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre 16-valve petrol engines. The 90 bhp and 110 bhp versions of Peugeot's sophisticated 2.0-litre HDi turbo diesel engine are also available which offer lively performance and excellent fuel economy and low emission levels.

A choice of five-speed manual gearbox or automatic Porsche Tiptronic gearbox (1.6-litre petrol version) is available. The Peugeot 307 SW features the 307's levels of safety, with front, side and curtain airbags six altogether active front seat backrests, emergency brake assist and three-point retractable seatbelts for each of the seven seats.

This stylish new addition to the Peugeot 307 range International Car of the Year 2002 is available in a choice of 11 attractive exterior colours and three interior trims. Prices start at £13,495.
