Whoever planned the new one-way system for Bradford on Avon has not really given it much thought.
All it will do is increase the traffic up and down New Road and Springfield Road, as the traffic coming from the Trowbridge Road and Frome Road area going through to the Melksham area will now have to go up Market Street and Mason Hill, along Mount Pleasant, New Road and Springfield Road to get on the Melksham road.
Then traffic from the Bath area going to the Trowbridge and Frome Road area will also go along Mount Pleasant, New Road and Springfield Road to come down Silver Street into the town of Bradford, so it is only increasing traffic on other roads.
It might keep the traffic moving more in the town but could still create a bottleneck at the top of Mason's Hill and also at the bottom of Springfield.
