A motorcyclist escaped serious injury when he smashed head-on into a car in Trowbridge.

He was taken to hospital on Monday, May 6, with a suspected broken collarbone.

The accident happened on Seymour Road, close to the junction with Canal Road, when the teenager's bike collided head-on into the front of a black Vauxhall Frontera.

One of the motorcyclist's trainers could be seen under a wheel of the car.

Police sealed off the road while paramedics treated him.

Residents had rushed into the street after hearing a huge bang.

One onlooker said: "They are always speeding down this road. There was an accident just last week.

"I heard a loud bang and we all came rushing out. Everyone was very shocked.

"A woman came up to me and asked me to call the ambulance as the boy was injured."
