TIGERS are being set loose in Trowbridge as part of a campaign to raise awareness about global warming.
Environmental activists painted their bodies in Esso colours with Stop Esso slogans on their chests and backs to protest about the oil company's environmental policies.
Co-ordinator of the West Wiltshire Green Party, Rick Mills, was joined by Greenpeace member Katy Steed in Fore Street as they drummed up support on Saturday, May 4.
Mr Mills will be joined by Greenpeace members on May 18 for a Stop Esso Day at the Esso petrol station in Frome Road.
He said: "It is going to be a peaceful protest and we won't be blocking the station, so we won't be trying to stop anyone who wants to get petrol."
Rick, 28, of Timbrell Street, says Esso's parent company, ExxonMobil has done more than any other company to undermine the Kyoto Protocol the international treaty aimed at reducing global warming.
He said: "By boycotting, Esso people can send a clear message to the company that customers care about global warming."
