STORYTELLING by an ace cartoonist entertained children at West Swindon Library as part of the Swindon Literature Festival.
Korky Paul, whose real name is Hamish Vignie Christie Paul, has illustrated children's books and gave six energetic performances to schoolchildren for the Libraries Festival Day.
He encouraged children from Tregoze Primary School, Oliver Tomkins Junior School and Westlea Primary School to act out some of his stories and he read out some his books with the aid of colour slides.
Librarian Robin Griffiths said: "The performances are promoting books which some children would otherwise never see and hopefully it will bring them into the library to read books which they have been inspired by in the session." he said. "It shows that books should not just be associated with school if they are presented in this way.
"It's also involving children in the literature festival which some of them have nothing to do with even though it is going on at the moment."
Budding writers also had the chance to get guidance and inspiration from Chrysse Morrison, the writer in residence who is a novelist, playwright and poet.
