THE result of the recent local council election in Swindon did little to resolve the balance of power in the town.
At the time, we said it was more important than ever for the three main political parties to work together to sort out Swindon's various problems.
But with the council's annual meeting being held on Friday, there is talk of a leadership crisis looming.
In recent months all parties have worked together to get Swindon through a difficult time, and while there is still a long way to go, progress is being made.
What we do not need now is political squabbling at a delicate stage in the council's evolution. We are sure common sense will prevail come Friday.
