THE body of a 42-year-old man was found floating in a stream last night.
The alarm was raised after a passer-by spotted the body of Wilfred Lawson of Claridge Close, South Street, Aldbourne, in the stream next to South Street.
Mr Lawson was last seen alive after he left a nearby nightclub at around 11.30pm on Saturday.
A post mortem will be carried out on the body and a full investigation into his death is also being carried out.
A police spokesman said: "It is too early to say what the cause of death was. We are very keen to talk to anyone who saw Mr Lawson walking along South Street on Saturday night."
Mr Lawson's family are being comforted by friends.
