TWO nightclub doormen were stabbed in a weekend of violence in Swindon.

They were attacked in Fleet Street after an argument with two men who were asked to leave Angelo's nightclub.

One doorman was stabbed in the chest and the other was slashed across the chest and stabbed twice in the back.

They were both taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, where they were treated for serious but not life threatening injuries.

The attack, late on Saturday, was one of a number of serious violent attacks in Swindon.

A man was beaten up for his wallet in East Street in the early hours of yesterday.

The 30-year-old man was walking through London Street car park at around 4.45am when a group of four young men attacked him.

They chased him to East Street where he was beaten up again and robbed of his wallet.

And early today three men were arrested following a car park brawl outside Swindon College. A group of five people, walking towards Walcot, had cut through Regent Circus car park just before 1am when three men approached them.

After a verbal exchange the three men proceeded to attack two men from the group of five.

One was punched in the mouth and suffered a suspected broken nose, while the other was kicked in the head. Both were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital.

Witnesses to any of the weekend attacks have been asked to call Swindon Police on 528111 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
