YOUNGSTERS who attend the Clivey Project youth club are devastated after a break-in at the group's Cricklade Road premises.
A new £200 Playstation 2 computer console, which had been bought only two weeks previously, was stolen from the centre after the thieves broke in through a side window.
Project manager Kate Rowe explained: "All the youngsters are understand-ably upset about this. We had just bought it and it was there for everyone to use. It is really sad."
She added that security at the centre will be tightened, including the placing of metal grills on the windows.
"This is something that we did not want to do because the youngsters thought that it would make them feel as if they were being caged in.
"But unfortunately it might be something that we now have to do.
"I would just ask the person who took the console to return it please. It should be for everyone to enjoy."
The Clivey Project, which was launched in March, provides a recreational meeting place, and advice point for 14-16 year olds.
