THE Government has recently launched the second phase of its awareness campaign to help recruit more social workers around the country .
This initiative is vital if we are to develop a strong social care system to support people with serious health issues, older people, people with mental health problems, abused or homeless children and many others.
Research has shown widespread misunderstanding about what social workers actually do and this lack of knowledge presents the largest obstacle to preventing people from considering a career in social care.
