THE case of a giant in his early 20s who has been accused of violent disorder and is banned from all his local pubs has been brought before Gloucester Crown Court.
Daniel Upton, 23, of Deansfield, Cricklade, who stands at six feet eight inches tall, has pleaded not guilty to violent disorder causing fear for personal safety.
The case concerns his alleged behaviour towards three police officers who were arresting him. Tim Evans, prosecuting, said he would take time to consider an offer from defence barrister Paul Grumbar for his client to admit to a lesser charge of affray.
The prosecution requested an adjournment while CCTV evidence was examined.
The case was adjourned until May 24. Mr Evans said it would not be necessary to make it a condition of Upton's bail that he stays away from the public house where the incident took place.
"Mr Upton is barred from all the pubs in his native Cirencester," he said.
"None of them have let him in since December."
