COLEVIEW Girls' under 14 side were edged out 1-0 by Reading in their Vale League Cup final.
Reading started brightly, and their early pressure was rewarded when they were awarded a decisive penalty.
Natalie Mitchell, Coleview's reserve keeper, saved the spot-kick but the taker reacted quickest to net the rebound.
At the other end, Nicola Watts found herself swamped by Reading's defence.
Coleview enjoyed a better second half and any Reading breakaways were dealt with by Tara Lofts and Leanne Gannaway. Laura Stallard and Watts went close at the other end but in the end the Coleview girls had to settle for runners-up medals, to go alongside their league runners-up and fair play awards.
