STEPHEN Roberts told police his name was Rocky Balboa when he was caught drunk and being abusive in Chippenham.
Roberts, 44, of Thingley Caravan Park in Corsham, pleaded guilty at North Wiltshire Magistrates' Court in Chippenham last Wednesday to being drunk and disorderly.
He was fined £50 and ordered to pay £55 costs.
Amanda Sawetz, prosecuting, said police were called at 9.45pm on May 7 after people complained that Roberts was being abusive to motorists at The Bridge, in Chippenham.
Ms Sawetz said when police arrived Roberts approached them, but was unsteady on his feet. "The officer asked for his name and he replied, Rocky Balboa, of no fixed abode," said Ms Sawetz.
He was asked to go home but refused, and was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. Ms Sawetz said he calmed down in the police car and the handcuffs were taken off.
Stephen Clifford, defending, said Roberts appreciates he was extremely foolish. He said Roberts was doing groundwork in Corsham and was given the day off on May 7 because of bad weather, so went for a drink.
