CARNIVAL princess Shona Harding will be taking a few tips from her mum in preparation for Calne Carnival next month.
Mum Teresa Harding was a princess in the silver jubilee year.
Six-year-old Shona, who goes to Cherhill Primary School, was over the moon when she found out she'd been picked as a princess, with Louise Edginton and Rebecca Gillett.
But perhaps the most excited was her mum who still remembers how magical it was to be a princess for the day in Oaksey in 1977.
Calne's carnival princesses, who had to write 20 words about why they wanted to win, were picked at the weekend.
"I was so excited and I was crying," said Mrs Harding, 35, of Alma Terrace, Calne.
In Oaksey her crown was made of silver doilies and she was given £4.
