NORTH Wiltshire District Council could face legal action from Monkton Park residents protesting about the noise and nuisance created by the skatepark.
Residents around the park are eagerly awaiting the outcome of an ombudsman's inquiry into the district council's handling of the skatepark.
Once the results of the inquiry are known, residents could take the matter to the courts if the report finds in their favour, because they say they are fed up with the noise.
"Officers recommended that the skatepark be closed in its present situation, and the councillors over-rode their advice.
"So the councillors are now personally liable for their actions," said Peter Horner, of St Mary Street.
"The Devizes skatepark court case was completely successful for all the same reasons that we are complaining.
"We are waiting for the ombudsman's report then legal action is certainly an option."
Mr Horner said the noise of the skatepark drowned out the sound of birds living in the area, and was spoiling the park.
Paul Langcaster,a spokesman for the district council, said the council does not know when the ombudsman's report would be made available.
But skaters in Corsham are getting closer to realising their dreams for a skateboard park in the town.
A site has been identified at the Springfield playing fields, alongside Valley Road.
Young people in the area have been involved in designing the ramps and equipment and experts have been consulted with regard to its construction.
