A HOARD of nurse's badges have been found in a long-forgotten drawer at Princess Margaret Hospital.
An appeal has been made to former trainee nurses to retrieve the 69 unclaimed nurse qualification badges which date from 1972 to 1994.
Senior nurse Liz Jaffrey explained: "When nurses qualified, it was traditional for them to be awarded a metal lapel badge with the name of the trust and the name of the nurse on the reverse.
"Although they are not awarded now they are worn with pride by serving nurses.
"For some reason it seems that many nurses have not picked up their badges and it seems a shame just to throw them away."
Anyone who wishes to claim their badge should contact nurse education administrator Jeanette Ellis on 426220.
