A NEW Dorothy House Hospice Care charity shop will be opened in Calne tomorrow by mayor Elizabeth Hitchens.
The shop, in Phelps Parade, will be selling a range of good quality clothes, bric-a-brac, books and home furnishings, and donations of these goods will always be welcomed.
Dorothy House Hospice Care has 17 shops in towns across the region it covers. Each year they contribute more than £220,000 to the charity.
Katrina Sudbury of Dorothy House, said: "Many people are not aware that Dorothy House Hospice Care looks after patients with life threatening illnesses and their families in the Calne area.
"We care for patients in the comfort of their own homes, arranging short stays at the in-patient unit in Winsley when necessary to relieve patient's symptoms or provide respite care for the carer."
Mary Hoar, who was previously manager of the Dorothy House shop in Chippenham, will be manager of the Calne shop.
She is looking for volunteers to join the shop's friendly team.
A variety of tasks are on offer from sorting, steaming and pricing, to till operating. For further information contact her on (01249) 818818.
