LOCAL Government Minister Nick Raynsford MP listened to the political voices of tomorrow when he met student councillors at John Bentley School on Monday.
Mr Raynsford visited the county to see how Wiltshire County Council is working to improve the lives of local people.
He met a group of young people who are members of the school and Calne Town Young People's Councils, and the Tomorrow's Voice panel.
The minister was quizzed about his job and responsibilities in Government, as well as his thoughts on engaging young people in politics and local government.
Council leader Peter Chalke, said: "I am delighted that Mr Raynsford is in Wiltshire today to see how innovative ideas are being put into practice to provide the best possible services to local people and improve the county's infrastructure.
Headteacher Anne Burrell, said: "We actively encourage our students to become involved in the community.
"It gives them a broader view on the world outside school and get involved in local decision making."
Mr Raynsford also visited Fynamore Primary School and the new Millennium Library.
