PAINTINGS, sculpture and ceramics by renowned artists on the subject of horses are now on display at the Bluestone Gallery in Old Swan Yard.
The exhibition, entitled Free Rein, is attracting attention from both horse lovers and art lovers from all over the county.
Gallery owner Guy Perkins is delighted with the interest already attracted by the show.
One of those exhibiting is Judy Boyt from Easterton Sands, whose work is in great demand all over the country. She is currently trying to raise sponsorship to erect a sculpture on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal at Town Bridge in Northgate Street.
Another Wiltshire artist, Jenny Arthy, is showing her paintings and charcoal sketches. Her work ranges from the realistic to the more abstract, but Mr Perkins said that her work was the original inspiration for the whole show.
Catrin Howell is a rising young Welsh star in the world of ceramics and her work is technically superb and haunting in its depiction of horses from the world of Celtic mythology. She has already won several awards.
Paul Priest describes himself as a sculptor in ceramics and uses a variety of techniques to make his large, striking and quirky pieces. The exhibition runs until June 7.
