STAFF at Wroughton Surgery took delivery of life-saving equipment, courtesy of the British Heart Foundation charity.
The two defibrillators, each costing about £5,000, can be used to re-start a patient's heart in the event of a cardiac arrest and can vastly improve a victim's chances of recovery.
Treatment must be administered in the first few minutes following a cardiac arrest, if irreversible brain damage is to be avoided.
By having defibrillators to hand, patients at the surgery have the best chance of survival in the event of a heart attack.
The donation is part of a rolling campaign by British Heart Foundation to provide defibrillators in doctors' surgeries and leisure centres.
