A CHARITY quiz night organised by Swindon Mayor David Cox as one his last duties in office raised £1,200.
The event took place at the Oasis Centre and winner of the trophy on the night was Kris Jones, the captain of the winning team called the Collaborators.
Coun Cox said: "The evening went down very well and I hope the future mayor takes up the cup we have purchased for the event and keeps the quiz night going.
"A very enjoyable evening was had by all and Swindon contractors did us proud with the organisation of the room."
The proceeds of the evening will go to the mayor's three chosen charities the Breast Cancer Unit at Princess Margaret Hospital, the Rowdy Bunch Club, a charity for disabled youngsters, and an old people's home in Swindon's Nicaraguan twin town of Ocotal.
Coun Cox, who is about to hand over the mayor's mantle to Coun Stan Pajak, was assisted by Eric Walker and Brian Price in co-ordinating the event.
Twenty-five teams made up of five to six members competed.
