A TRIO of former soldiers and police officers are planning to walk the 95-mile West Highland Way next month to raise cash for Swindon's Multiple Sclerosis society.
But they still need more help if they are to reach their £10,000 sponsorship target.
Former detective constable Denis Grant and friends retired police constable Mick Male and former regimental sergeant major John Hunt plan to start their walk on Sunday and complete the route within five days.
Mr Hunt said: "Our personal reason for doing this is because Denis's brother Gregor, a 47-year-old former soldier, has been diagnosed with MS. There are about 120 people in our town with MS and we felt it was a really worthwhile cause."
So far, the three have managed to raise £1,500 after a disappointing response from businesses in the town.
