PEOPLE saw vets in practice as two of Swindon's animal hospitals opened their doors to the public.
Drove Road Veterinary Hospital held a fundraising fair, while the Greenbridge Road branch of Thamesdown Small Animal Hospital held an open day as National Pet Week drew to an end.
Greenbridge Road veterinary manager, Jiovanna Hartley, said: "We're trying to help spread the word about pet care.
"It was just incredibly busy from start to finish and it was great to see so many people with their pets everyone had a great time."
Among the attractions were half-price pet micro chipping, guess the weight of Hugo the Great Dane and Animal Hospital-style mock operations. Guide Dogs for the Blind and Wiltshire Wildlife also held displays.
All the money raised from the event on Sunday will go towards the pet week charity fund, to be distributed to all animal charities in the country.
Drove Veterinary Hospital raised £836 for Swindon Animal Sanctuary during its open day.
Receptionist Jane Carter helped arrange the day with secretary Lisa Keenan and head receptionist Clare Waite.
Jane said: "We are delighted with the way the day went and the amount of money raised. We would like to thank all those who came."
