A DRIVER who collided with another car near Corsham is believed to have suffered a stroke.

The 68-year-old man was airlifted to the Royal United Hospital in Bath where he is in a serious condition.

The accident happened at 2pm on Tuesday on the A4 at the Jockey Five Ways junction.

The pensioner, who was driving a white Nissan Primera, is believed to have lost control before going through red traffic lights.

The car collided with a green Peugeot 406 estate, and both cars then collided with a wall.

Both drivers were taken to hospital.

The accident closed the road for three hours.
