PLANS for a 17-house development on farmland in Bowerhill have incensed nearby residents.
Persimmon Homes have submitted proposals to build up to 17 homes at Bowerhill Farm, near Melksham.
Garages and an access road onto the busy Devizes Road are included in the plan.
Farm buildings would be demolished to make way for the estate but the farmhouse would stay if plans get the go-ahead.
Wendy Cox, of Dowding Way, said the development would bring more traffic onto an already deadly road.
She said: "It is a very busy road and the access route would come out on a bend. It could be dangerous.
"It is certainly not the most advisable place for a 17-house development."
The plan will go before Northern Area Committee later this year.
