CHILDREN who go to Nestlings Pre-school in Staverton clocked up lap after lap of the playground last Thursday, May 9, as they tackled a sponsored bike ride.
The children brought their own bikes and trikes to the School Lane pre-school to pedal around a course laid out in the playground of neighbouring Emmaus School, which the pre-school shares.
Each child's laps were recorded on a card which they kept as a souvenir of their efforts.
The pre-school, which caters for three and four-year-olds, runs sessions every day.
The proceeds from the sponsored event will be used to help fund an end-of-term trip to Farmer Giles Farmstead, near Salisbury, and organisers hope to make enough to bring the cost of the trip within the reach of as many families as possible.
As well as planning the trip, the pre-school is also organising Jubilee events, with a street party in the playground for the youngsters, their parents and younger brothers and sisters.
