WESTWOOD doll maker Julia Raynor is helping bring joy to under-privileged children in India.
Miss Raynor was approached by Somerset Levels Rotary Club to make its contribution for an international doll museum designed to give youngsters a glimpse of people at work and play around the globe.
The collection will include dolls from all countries where Rotary has a presence.
Rotarian Deepak Agrawal, from Rajkot, in India, said: "Our dream of providing an international doll museum to the under-privileged children is taking shape. It is gratifying to see true internationality of Rotary in prompt and enthusiastic response to our humble request."
Miss Raynor said: "We had a number of discussions and then settled on a Little Bo-Peep doll, a shepherdess. They wanted something traditional."
The doll was handed over to Rotarian John Wood on Wednesday.
He said: "She is absolutely beautiful and totally what we wanted."
