Swindon Town director Bob Holt has defended the club's delay in issuing season ticket renewal packs, and insists that loyal supporters will not be out of pocket.
Existing regulars will receive their renewal invitations when they are sent out on May 21 the day after the offer of a 15 per cent discount for early purchases ends.
But Holt assures the loyal fans who have waited patiently that they won't lose out financially.
"There will still be a discount offered," said Holt.
"Although it won't be the same as the 15 per cent early discount which ends on the 20th.
"The renewal packs will contain incentives which are different to those currently on offer."
Holt explained that the reason for the delay in the issue of the packs was down to greater priorities.
He said: "The main aim for this club has been getting out of administration.
"You've got to bear in mind that only a few weeks ago the club was fighting for survival we still are.
"The money situation is very tight and we don't have the money to spend on marketing.
"Up to date, Dunwoody Marketing have done everything for free.
"I don't know what else we could have done.
"We thought we'd be out of admin by May 5, and then the packs would go out but that's been delayed by financial and legal problems.
"We're now sending them out just before the CVA meeting, because we can't hold on any longer than that."
Holt also insisted that there are no reasons for fans to complain about missing the discount boat by waiting to receive their packs.
He said: "The 15 per cent was an early bird for anyone wanting to get a season ticket.
"Any existing holders can come down (to take advantage of the early discount) and a lot of them have."
Despite the initial furore surrounding the season ticket price hike, early sales have gone well.
Around 650 have so far been sold, and the club hope that punters making the most of Monday's deadline will be out in force at the weekend sales.
"We are approaching 700 season tickets sold already," beamed Holt.
"We're delighted with that. The shareholders and the directors are very encouraged by that response.
"We've sold well over 600, and we are expecting that total to double over the weekend.
"It may be it bit of panic buying but it is good value at £349.
"Most people that are paying that paid £249 or £299 last year.
"So for a club that's in trouble, a 20 per cent increase isn't too bad."
The Town Director also assures supporters that further money-saving offers will be initiated after the board reconvene for the CVA meeting on May 24.
