FORMER Status Quo star, John Coghlan will open a summer fete at a residential home this weekend.
John left the band as its drummer in 1982 after becoming disillusioned with its musical direction. He went on to pursue a solo career with his own band, Diesel.
The summer fete will take place on Saturday, May 18 at the Tony Long House residential home on Casson Road in Stratton.
The fete will open at noon.
The event will be full of fun activities and stalls for all the family, while a disco will play a range of music.
Children can play on bouncy castles and meet members of the fire brigade.
A small 20p entrance fee will be charged at the entrance.
All money raised at the event will go the amenity fund at the home for its upkeep.
