BREWER and pub owner Greene King has reported big earning growth for the year ending May 4.
Pre-tax profit was up 10 per cent to £69.2m on the back of a 15 per cent rise in turnover of £494.5m.
Chairman David McCall said: "These excellent results demonstrate our determination and ability to sustain double digit earnings growth. The company is well positioned to generate consistent shareholder value in the future."
Chief executive Tim Bridge added: "Our three complimentary businesses enjoyed a year of continued trading success on the back of our strategy of investing sensibly to improve the quality of our assets and people.
"Added to the acquisition and integration of Old English Inns during the year, and the purchase of Morrells of Oxford since our year end, we look forward with confidence."
Greene King pubs in Swindon include The Spotted Cow at Coate, Brookhouse Farm in Middleaze Drive, Churchill House in Wootton Bassett, the Covingham Hen and the Crumpled Horn in Eldene.
