WACKY landlord Andy Davies laid on an £80 limousine to take his darts team 450 yards from The White Hart in Lyneham to The Mallard for a match.
The White Hart's eight-man team, who had already won five games in this season's Wootton Bassett darts league, travelled in style to Monday night's clash with their Lyneham neighbours. The royal treatment evidently paid off, as they scooped clear victory with a 19-2 win.
Mr Davies said the team will now be travelling in a limousine for the next away match at the High Street club in Wootton Basett on July 15.
Depending on how subsequent contests go, Mr Davies says the team could be taken to matches by the high-class car until the end of the season on September 23.
The darts' team has only started up this season.
"They are all great company and have a right to enjoy themselves," said Mr Davies, who owns the pub with his wife Tricia. "It's a good laugh and gives the players a chance to travel in style," he added. The limo is not Mr Davies' first quirky idea. Last year he launched a campaign to track down "Busty" Beatrix Dunlop after she posed topless outside his pub for The Daily Sport.
