STUDENT Sarah Richards is planning a daring parachute jump to raise money for charity.
Miss Richards, 17, of Heron Close, Calne, is joining forces with her aunt, Janet Forster, 35, for the parachute challenge.
They are hoping their efforts will raise a substantial sum for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Mrs Forster's son, Sam, three, suffers from the serious genetic disease which affects almost all the mucus-producing glands in the body.
Miss Richards said: "I have never done anything like this before.
"I expect I will be pretty nervous nearer the time."
Miss Richards, who is studying A-level drama, French and English at John Bentley School sixth form in Calne, said: "For some crazy reason I agreed to do it. My aunt rang and told me the jump was raising money for cystic fibrosis and I thought it was a good cause and a once in a lifetime opportunity."
The duo will jump on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
They will be travelling to Northamptonshire where the jump will take place at a height of between 7,000 and 12,000 feet.
The two are appealing to family and friends to help them raise sponsorship.
They both need to raise at least £400 to be able to take part in the jump.
To take part in the jump will cost £200 each, but the rest of the money raised will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Miss Richard's brothers and sisters, Samantha, 15, Tom, eight, and Matthew, six, will be on hand to cheer their sister on.
