CALNE Community Area Transport group (CAT) on Thursday moved into the next phase of its plan to improve public transport in the town and surrounding villages.
A new leaflet has been produced describing the CAT's aims and objectives and containing contact numbers for a full range of transport information.
The leaflet will be launched at the Citizens' Transport Mapping Surveys, the first of which took place in Calne on Thursday, and in all village communities throughout the area.
At the events, people will be invited to help map all the journeys they and members of their family currently make, and all the journeys they would wish to make if transport were available.
"The information gathered at these events will be analysed to produce a report that will show current and future transport needs in the area," said CAT member and town councillor Derek Quinn.
"This report will help to decide the route of the Wiggly Bus and to plan future transport plans for the area," he said.
Dorothy Lewis, chairman of Calne CAT and a stalwart transport campaigner, said: "This is another step along the road to a sustainable, integrated transport system.
She said: "We would like as many people to attend as possible. The more information we obtain, the better decisions and transport provisions we can make."
Mrs Lewis said they wanted people from any area of Calne, from any of the outlying communities or villages in the area, to have easy access to the centre of Calne, to their places of work, their place of recreation and then on to the rest of the country.
"This mapping exercise in a start of our work," she added.
