BUDDING Wimbledon champions were given the chance to come face to face with a tennis legend.
Asda in the Link Centre held a tennis competition with one lucky winner getting the chance to meet Tim Henman at the Queens Tennis Club in London.
Shoppers had to hit a tennis ball through a hole above a cardboard cut-out of Tim, with the national winner decided by a tie breaker explaining why you would like to meet Tim Henman.
Sarah Green, a Lawn Tennis Association coach with Delta and Wootton Bassett tennis clubs, was on hand to give players some tips.
She said: "Tennis is a great fun sport and it isn't as expensive as people imagine; both of my clubs run £1.50 sessions on Saturday."
Jess Alojado, 33, a telecommunications engineer from Westlea, said: "I had a quick go when I came out of the store but I didn't come close to hitting anything.
"Tim did well to reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon. He was unlucky to face the number one seed."
Reuben Bassett, 11, from Pontyvi in Brittany, France, who was visiting relatives, had a go.
He said: "I didn't get on too well but I would like to meet Tim. I would love to play a game against him."
