WITH reference to Sam Hazle and Pinehurst School banning crisps and sweets at breaktimes do these parents really think the school does not have their children's overall welfare at the centre of all decisions?
Sweets and crisps are bad for you, and sweets are certainly not good for teeth.
At my childrens' school in West Swindon, sweets are not allowed, full stop not as a snack and not even at lunchtime.
Children are allowed fruit or plain biscuits at snack time. They do not need sweets or crisps.
Education is not just about learning to read and write but also about teaching life skills. One of these skills is learning about healthy and unhealthy foods, as well as healthy eating.
Mr Hobbs has my full support.
