HEADTEACHERS in Swindon are right to be cautious when it comes to the proposal of having sex clinics in our schools.
The proposal has been made by Tribal, the private firm which is now running Swindon's education system.
They plan to ask parents if they want schools to provide free contraception to teenage pupils.
This is a very difficult subject for any family to give an opinion let alone back a new proposal which is revolutionary for English schools.
Quite rightly all headteachers are not jumping up over this subject and have said there will be full consultation with parents and governors before anything is decided.
Many of Swindon's schools have strong education and advisory programmes when it comes to sex education.
Before anyone wants to try and change these programmes there must be talks among all groups to arrive at the right result.
