BATH'S brightest young brains took the two top prizes at the Intel Computer Challenge, seeing off competition from over 200 students from across the region.
Kim Taylor, 16, of Prior Park School and Tom Barrett and Calum McMillan, both 13 from St Gregory's School each won an Intel Pentium III processor-based laptop computer and colour printer for their schools, plus the boys all won computer vouchers for themselves.
Tom and Calum created an award-winning snow-boarding website.
Their extensive research and the professional finish of the site impressed the judges and earned them top prize in the 11-14 age category.
Jazz pianist Kim Taylor added the right note of suspense at the competition with his digitally created film soundtracks.
Kim composed the music on a synthesiser, recorded it onto his PC and then edited it, using distortions and sound effects to create spine-chilling tunes for scary movies. Kim hopes that this will be the first step towards a musical career.
