BATH'S top fundraiser 'Mad' Eli Collins says he intends to sell everything he owns in the world in order to raise money for charity.
Mr Collins, whose decorated courtyard on the corner of Laura Place and Johnstone Street is a favourite tourist attraction, says he wants to sell every item in his basement flat to further his charitable contributions.
"I will sell the shirt off my back if somebody makes me an offer," he said. "I still want to raise a further £500,000 and this will make a start towards realising that dream."
Mr Collins' extraordinary collection of bric-a-brac decorates every square inch of wall and floor space in his flat.
The sale could mark the end of an era, as the madcap fundraiser is currently considering whether to give up his flat and move to a residential home.
He said: "I have lived here since 1977 and the courtyard has become a real draw for visitors from around the world. Many want to be photographed in it and just as many want a tour of my flat. If I do move, I'm sure they'll miss it too."
A world famous landmark, Mr Collins' courtyard earns thousands of pounds each year for charity, as visitors are invited to throw down their loose coins.
Mr Collins does however intend to continue running his wrestling Video Club, the proceeds of which will also go towards funding his charity work.
