YOUNGSTERS from Germany and Finland were welcomed to Swindon by the mayor, Stan Pajak.
The children were on a youth exchange scheme organised by Swindon Council and funded by the European Union.
As part of a wide-ranging programme of events, they had chance to see the splendour of the mayor's parlour and council chamber at the Civic Offices.
They have also visited the Steam museum, the Oasis leisure centre and attractions such as Avebury stone circles.
The German students were from Swindon's twin town, Salzgitter.
Coun Pajak said: "The European Union is trying to encourage greater links with other parts of the union and it is certainly refreshing to see students from Finland and Germany here."
"It's nice to get a European flavour in the town and hopefully they will take back an idea of what a good place Swindon is to live in."
