FORMER Swindon Town favourite Mark Robinson is ready to don his boots once more after quitting the game last season.
Robinson, 33, has decided to take a leaf out of an old teammate's book by joining Gareth Davies at ambitious Dr Martens Premier League outfit Chippenham Town.
Robbo called time on his professional career at the end of January after deciding that his injury-ravaged body could no longer stand up to the rigours of life in Division Two.
Former Town defender Davies came to the same conclusion weeks earlier, but the lure of the game proved too much, and he returned to play a major role in Chippenham's second successive promotion campaign.
After seeing Davies make a successful comeback, Robinson wants a part of the action too.
"Once I packed in, I didn't want to see a football again to be honest," admitted the ex-Newcastle United man.
"My body just couldn't take it anymore, but it's calmed down now. I feel good and to be honest I've got itchy feet and want to play again.
"Gareth did the same last year and did very well.
"And I hope to do the same."
"I had no intention of playing non-League football when I gave up, but things change with time.
"Chippenham have done very well over the last couple of years, with back-to-back promotions and a Wembley appearance. I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
Robinson, who is currently studying for a sports diploma, will only train once a week to avoid a repeat of the burnout he suffered at the County Ground.
Chippenham boss Tommy Saunders was delighted to add to his Swindon old boys contingent.
"We're delighted," beamed Saunders. "Who would have dreamed three years ago that we would have two top-class former pros on our books?"
Meanwhile, Bluebirds boss Saunders is hoping to secure two further high-profile signatures.
Former Hereford, Yeovil and England semi-pro International defender Murray Fishlock who also spent some time at the County Ground as a youngster could complete a move to Hardenhuish Park by the weekend.
He should be joined by ex-Bristol City, Cheltenham and Forest Green Rovers striker Jason Eaton.
