A JOINT fete held by St Michael and All Angels' Church, in Lyneham, and St Mary's Church, in Bradenstoke, attracted a host of colourful characters Saturday.
The fete, at the Hocketts Close field in Lyneham, included a garden party, stalls and refreshments.
There was a fancy dress competition for children and there was even a dog show, but nobody took it too seriously as it had categories for the dog with the loudest bark and loveliest face.
Jeni Howard, from Bradenstoke with Katie MacDog, won the rosettes for the loudest bark, and most obedient dog categories.
Katie also came third in the loveliest face category.
Sophie Lock, from Lyneham, and her dog Poppy lifted two second prizes in the obedient dog and loudest bark categories. The terrier cross also received the top prize in the loveliest face category.
The children's fancy dress brought many impressive entries, including two-year-old Bob the Builder, Jack Saunders from Bradenstoke, who came second. Little Bo Peep Ebony McIntyre, three, from Lyneham, received third prize .
Jack's elder brother William, five, entered as Spiderman.
