ALL the fun of the circus was brought to life by disabled schoolboy Daniel McAleavy and his friends in a colourful variety show in Malmesbury on Sunday.

More than 100 parents, friends and family packed the town hall for the special show, financed through a £5,400 grant.

Daniel, 13, of King's Wall, Malmesbury, was given a Whizz-Kids charity No Limits Millennium Award in December to stage the show, which featured four pupils from Burton Hill House School, in Malmesbury, and three able-bodied children from Malmesbury School.

Daniel played Bonzo, a schoolboy who runs away to the circus with friend Dixie, played by 13-year-old George Topsom, who also goes to Malmesbury School.

He and George were shown on a video screen walking through Malmesbury and running away to circus school, before making their way on to the stage.

Other children taking part were Matthew Jenkins, ten, Finn Mewton, Adam Oldland and Reece Dodd, all 11, and 13-year-old Heidi Cross. Daniel's brother Patrick, 13, played a juggling teacher.

"The children all had a lovely day, we had a lot of people come along, and they would like to do it again," said Daniel's mum Chris.
