DEVIZES Town Youth FC are hoping the community will back them in their bid to have a new £33,000 changing block ready for the autumn.
The FA, in conjunction with the Sport England Lottery Fund have awarded Devizes £21,600 towards the work and the club are now calling on skilled people from the town to help build and decorate the new facility.
The club have received financial assistance from local businesses and the Wiltshire FA towards the cost of building the new changing rooms, which will include a referee's room and accessibility for the disabled.
Planning permission has been received and work should begin once a routine archaeological survey has been carried out.
Devizes' 12 junior teams will benefit from the new changing rooms and manager Richard Lynch hopes theywill be in use two months into the 2002/03 season. He said: "What we've got at the moment is horrible, but the new facility will benefit everybody.
"We wrote a hell of a lot of letters to businesses and received a lot of nos. But local businesses have been great."
