THE GLITZ and glamour of the 1950s Hollywood B movie is coming to Wroughton.
The Ridgeway School pays homage to the age of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers and It Came From Outer Space with its summer production of Little Shop of Horrors.
Little Shop of Horrors was a hit film in 1986, starring Rick Moranis and Bill Murray.
Filmed in the style of a 50s horror movie, it tells the tale of a nerdy florist who discovers a carnivorous monster plant while trying to capture the woman of his dreams.
Ridgeway's head of drama Simon White said: "It's the usual tale of boy meets girl, boy has to kill to feed mutant plant, but with a sting in the tale.
"We changed the location of the show from a florist's to a 50s drive-in movie theatre, and what is showing on the cinema screen in the background plays an important part in the action.
"We have been working on this for seven or eight months, pupils and staff have all put in a lot of hard work."
The production will feature more than 50 students aged from 11 to 18. Performances are tonight and tomorrow at the school in Inverary Road, with programmes priced £4 for adults and £2.50 for children.
