DEVIZES market will be losing two familiar faces when Peter and Ann Reitzner close their stall for the last time at the end of this month after 30 years.
The couple opened Pine Tree Nurseries at their home in Conscience Lane, Rowde, in 1972, and their plants have always been in demand, originally trees and shrubs but in recent years the couple have concentrated more on hardy perennials.
Mrs Reitzner said: "My husband had been working at a nursery at Etchilhampton and we had the opportunity to start up on our own.
"We started off as a 'hardy nursery'. You don't hear that term used these days but we always had a reputation for providing plants that lasted.
"I can't believe it is 30 years. Time has passed so quickly. Now the business is getting too much for us and we think it is time to take things easy."
Mr Reitzner is 80 and Mrs Reitzner will shortly celebrate her 75th birthday.
