AN up and coming choir from Swindon will be appearing alongside one of the best singing groups in the world next week.
Wessex Male Choir, which was formed less than a year ago, will be sharing the stage with the Sons of Orpheus, the male choir of Tucson, Arizona, on Monday
The American choir is one of just 17 invited to compete in the famed Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in July.
And directly afterwards, the US group will be appearing at Holy-rood Catholic Church in Ground-well Road, where the Wessex Male Choir will be completing the bill.
The musical director of the Swindon choir, Robert Elliott, says the concert is a good opportunity for his singers to try and match the professionalism of the American choir after an encouraging first year in existence.
Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre, Regent Street.
Alternatively contact the choir on Swindon 825378. Monday's concert starts at 7.30pm.
