I MUST take issue with Geoff Elliott (EA, June 25). He calls me ignorant in respect of a letter I wrote concerning whingeing farmers.
Had he read my letter correctly, he would have understood that I was criticising the hypocrisy of farmers like Rupert Burr, who profess to have concerns about animal welfare, then sends his animals to the horrors of the slaughterhouse.
If Mr Elliott had read any of my contributions to your newspaper he would understand that I, like millions of others, eat no dead animals or by-products of dead animals.
I also eat or drink no dairy products, so his suggestion I would eat beef is ludicrous.
