FURIOUS Corsham people claim they are being kept in the dark about the £5m revamp of the town's shopping precinct.
Town councillors were outraged that they only found out the scheme had been delayed when they read about it last week in the Chippenham News.
Now they are demanding to know what is going on and when work will start on The Precinct.
Builders were due to start work doubling the size of Somerfield supermarket last month.
The building schedule was changed when it became clear the new store would not be ready in time for Christmas trading.
Councillors were angry they were not told about it, and had no idea what was happening.
Cllr John Bright said: "It is vital the people of Corsham are told what is going on. Since the planning permission was granted, silence has reigned."
He called on the developer Castlefield Land or landowner North Wiltshire District Council to explain what was happening.
