A PATRIOTIC atmosphere invaded Dilton Marsh at the weekend as a golden jubilee carnival got under way.
The village enjoyed a splash of colour as floats, bands and performers paraded the streets, finishing at the playing field.
Committee member Nick Pearce said: "It was the best attended since 1967."
About 10 floats had the theme of king, queens and the jubilee but the winning entry was based around Harry Potter.
Pupils from Dilton Marsh School performed a variety of dances and songs.
The tug-of-war competition involved teams from around the county with the home team, Dilton Services Club, taking the title of champions.
Carnival festivities continued on Sunday with 12 eager football teams playing a tournament on the village playing field.
The winning team was the McQueen All-Stars and the Dilton Cup was presented to Bubbers Boys.
